| Street Girls Aid, a non-profit organization, provides a safe and challenging environment where girls/babies who live on the streets are assisted in restoring and building self-esteem and finding alternatives to life on the street. S. Aid is dedicated to: •Offer girls and their babies living on the streets of Accra friendship and hope •Assist pregnant street girls with antenatal and postnatal care •Reconcile girls with their families if they so wish •Aid motivated children who wish to get off the street into stable living conditions •Create greater awareness among Ghanaians and the global community concerning the plight of street girls in Ghana. •Promote the proper growth of street girls

S. Aid Objectives

•To promote the well being of pregnant girls and those in difficult circumstances living on the street by offering them voluntary residence in an effort to promote proper pre-natal and post-natal care •To provide counseling and advice as well as constant interaction with street children in order to understand their history, environment, motivations, and desires in an effort to support them with increased efficacy •To assist and encourage street girls to continue their education in schools, and apprenticeship placements •To offer skills development and locate job opportunities •To provide support and health education to street girls in order to discourage early pregnancy •To empower girls economically and socially •To protect and improve the rights and lives of street children |
